Guess who’s back?! Whoop whoop… Ok, I wouldn’t bore you with the details on why I’ve been ‘MIA’, buttttt it does feel good to be back! . 2020 was one year I went without a lot of makeup since I can remember and I must say it felt really good because I got to focus on taking care of my skin. I’ll share more in another post. Even though I focused on skincare, I got to experiment with some new and ‘not so old’ makeup products.
Welcome to the ‘JMBW 5 Series’! Where I share my top 5 make-up and skin-care products from various brands. Today, I’ll be sharing my top 5 foundations. For reference, I’ve got super oily skin and these foundations work perfectly for my skin type especially with the right skin prep.
Let’s dive into it…
This is my all time favourite foundation of 2020, In fact till date. So lightweight and makes my skin look radiant ( like the name implies ). Doesn’t feel or get cakey as long as you are not putting on too much so you don’t look like you’ve got naija map drawn on your face . It’s medium to full coverage. This is easily my everyday foundation. I call it the ‘gbammest’ foundation! I wear the shade New Caledonian. It’s the perfect undertone.
Before getting this foundation I read some ‘not so great’ reviews. If you get the wrong shade, you might not like how it turns out after a few hours. But get it right, you will be alright! If you would like to find your shade match, click on the link https://www.findation.com/ Buy me
Another everyday Fav… Abeg Fenty Beauty is worth the hype jor! Tried and tested. This foundation leaves your skin looking like skin. Builds from medium to full coverage and instantly gives you a smooth finish (love it). Did I say very lightweight? feels like air. Personally, I think it’s one of the best foundations for oily skin. I use the shade 450 ( Another perfect match ). You want?
This had to make it to my top 5! first of all, it’s a Nigerian brand (whoop whoop!) and it’s a hittttt! It gives a lustrous, gleaming, polished finish. So if you are all about that ‘matte matte’ look? this might not be the foundation for you . These days imma embracing lustrousness. It’s the natural finish for me. I use the shade Amina D13.Post loading on my ‘Full face of Nuban make-up products’… Make that 90% of Nuban products. Your plug
When you say full coverage, this baby is full coverage! A little goes a long way. Applies flawlessly and doesn’t look cakey. This foundation isn’t movingggg whether you’re dancing or uhhmm… Highly recommended for oily skin. They’ve got a wide range of shades. In fact I got a bit confused picking the right shade. I was torn between Ghana, kenya and Tanzania. Ended up picking Tanzania 205 and it’s a perfect match. Best price
This needs no introduction if you’ve been reading my blog. It was on my top 5 a few years ago Click here and still is! That’s how goooood this foundation is. Amazing coverage and super lightweight. What’s not to love?
What’s your best foundation for daily use?

Adding Vitamin C to my daily regimen is one of the best decisions I’ve made for my skin. It’s an antioxidant that brightens, smooths fine
All skin types ( whether normal, dry, oily, combination ) should embrace moisturizing. It will take your skin to another level of ‘suppleness’ and ‘smoothness’.
